Giovanna Silvestre didn't set out to build a brand. She was just trying to figure herself out.
Growing up in San Luis Obispo, she found early solace in the ocean - that expansive blue that somehow made her small problems feel manageable. But by her late twenties, that sense of ease had evaporated. What people call the "Saturn return" hit her hard: unexplained allergies, deep depression, and a nagging voice that kept whispering, "You're not enough."
The Long Unraveling
The healing came slowly, in fragments:
Yoga classes where for 60 minutes, her mind finally shut up
Energy healers who helped lift the mysterious allergies that had plagued her
A bungee jump that became less about thrill-seeking and more about proving to herself she could take leaps
Somewhere in this messy process, she started writing - not for an audience, but to untangle her own thoughts. That writing became "Confused Girl in the City," which began as a personal outlet and grew into something bigger.
When Confusion Becomes the Path
What's surprising about Giovanna's story is how little was planned. The crystal-inspired yoga wear line? That came from friends begging to buy the pieces she'd made for herself. The book? That grew organically from her Instagram captions that kept resonating with people.
Even the name "Confused Girl" wasn't some marketing strategy - it was her honest state. "I realized confusion isn't the opposite of clarity," she says. "It's often the path to it."
The Unseen Guide
After her father passed, something unexpected happened. She'd feel sudden urges to take certain photos or write particular posts, only to have them deeply connect with followers going through grief. These synchronicities became too frequent to ignore. "It's like he's still co-creating with me," she reflects.
What She Knows Now
If her journey has taught her anything, it's:
Healing isn't linear (she still has rough days)
Purpose finds you when you're busy being real, not "perfect"
Sometimes the bravest thing is to admit you don't have it figured out
Her book "Find Your Peace in the Chaos" isn't a roadmap - it's more like notes passed from one confused seeker to another.
